What UnaVox Live does

A speaker talks. Everyone follows along, in their language, in real time.

UnaVox Live is the live translation platform in the UnaVox family. One person speaks; everyone in the room — or joining remotely — reads the translation on their own device, in the language they prefer, as the speaker keeps going.

Built for environments where a human interpreter isn't practical — formation classes, parish meetings, training sessions, conferences, town halls, and any mixed-language gathering where people need to understand each other without slowing the conversation down.

Web-based. Attendees join with a link — no app to install, no account to make. Speakers run the room from one device; everyone else just watches the captions scroll in their language.

Where it works

Designed for the rooms most translation tools ignore.

UnaVox Live is built for community-scale, mixed-language settings — not for enterprise conference centers with $50K interpretation booths, and not for quick one-off chats. It's for the in-between.

Parish meetings

Bilingual (and trilingual) congregations, formation classes, ministry events. Spanish · English · more.

Classrooms

Mixed-language schools, ESL programs, training cohorts. Students follow lessons in their first language while learning the second.

Conferences & talks

Mid-size events where flying in interpreters isn't in the budget but a multilingual audience is in the room.

Mixed-language teams

Internal meetings where some folks think faster in English, others in Spanish — and you don't want to slow either side down.

How it works

Two roles. One room.

A UnaVox Live session has exactly two kinds of people in it: one Host (the speaker, who runs the room) and any number of Listeners (who join in their own language). Each side gets a different screen.

If you're the Host

Speaker · runs the room
  1. Open una-vox.com  →  Create Room One device runs the room — your laptop or phone is fine. Sign in with a name attendees will see.
  2. Pick your speaking language Tell UnaVox which language you'll be speaking in. Everything you say gets transcribed in this language and translated outward to every listener's chosen language.
  3. Calibrate your voice (~10 seconds) Read a short prompt out loud so the system locks onto your voice. Improves accuracy and lets you keep speaking naturally without raising your volume.
  4. Share the join link or code Send a link via text, post a QR code, or read out the short room code. Listeners open it on any device — no app to install.
  5. Go live and just talk Captions stream out in real time. Pause, ask questions, switch slides — the platform follows. End the room when you're done.
One device. One person. One language going in.

If you're a Listener

Attendee · reads along
  1. Open the join link or scan the QR The Host shares a link, a code, or a QR. No login, no account, no install — the page opens in your phone's browser.
  2. Enter your name So the Host knows who's in the room. That's it — no email, no password.
  3. Pick the language you want to read in UnaVox auto-detects your phone's language and pre-selects it. You can change it any time — captions switch on the fly.
  4. Tap Join — captions start streaming Words appear as the Host speaks. Scroll back to re-read, copy a quote, or step out — the stream stays in sync.
  5. Leave whenever Close the tab and you're out. Re-open the link to rejoin. No accounts, no traces.
Any device. Any number of listeners. Any of the supported languages.
Supported languages

Twelve languages at launch.

Each of the languages below works in both directions — speak in any of them as Host, read in any of them as Listener. We add languages based on cohort demand; if your community needs one not on this list, tell us.
